NOTICE OF MEETING TIME CHANGE
The Hayes Township Board of Trustees will be meeting at the earlier time of 7:00 p.m at their regular meeting April 14, 2014 at the Hayes Township Hall, 09195 Old US 31 N, Charlevoix, MI.
The purpose of this time change is to accommodate a presentation from a DTE representative to give an overview of where natural gas is available in Hayes Township and how those areas may be expanded. We encourage the public to attend this meeting to show their interest in possibly expanding the areas serviced by natural gas.

Hayes Township is the lucky recipient of a $4000.00 grant from the Great Lake s Energy People Fund. The grant is for the purchase of an entrance sign at Camp Sea-Gull our new Township Park.
You can contribute to the People Fund by rounding up your electric bill each month. The rounded up amounts are used to award grants to food pantries, senior citizen centers, youth programs and other local charities and community groups. Information on how to join this fund is on your GLE bill every month. Please keep in mind that the yearly cost will not exceed $11.88 per meter.

Sale of Motor Vehicles
The Planning Commission is holding a special hearing on April 1, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Township Hall located at 09195 Old US 31 N. near Burgess Road. The purpose of the hearing is to take public comment on an application from FLOH Co. (Subaru by the Bay) (applicant) for a Special Use Permit for proposed new show room for the Sale of Motor Vehicles.
The property involved is property tax number 15-007-112-005-00, located at 06432 US 31 N., Petoskey, MI (Bayshore). Comments may be made in person or in writing to Marlene Golovich, Planning Commission Secretary, 09195 Old US 31 N, Charlevoix, MI 49720.

Tax bills are confusing as you look at the columns of millages that make up your tax. The following chart is to show you how your tax dollars are distributed once the Hayes Township Treasurer receives your payment.
Each year Charlevoix County Equalization Dept. prepares the Township and City Clerk’s Report. The following chart is based on Hayes Township’s portion of this report. It is rounded to the nearest whole number and has combined all the public school districts together for simplicity (Boyne City, Charlevoix & Petoskey).
100% of the State Education Tax is sent to the State of Michigan to fund Michigan’s K-12 public school students.
